THE HISTORY OF ABRAM BRADBURY LOWELL

AN AMERICAN STORY

The History of Abram Bradbury Lowell And His Family

Our Lowell history is now in the final correction stage so we need to place our orders for the books so we know how many to have printed. The pricing and directions follow later in the letter. Your checks need to be to me by June 20th so we can have the book printed and shipped to you by early July. Then, you will have seen the book before our family reunion on July 29-30 in Madison, Wisconsin and we will have a copy to give to the Wisconsin Historical Society at the reunion.

With the cooperation of many, many Lowell cousins furnishing information and photos, we have a book about our family of approximately 300 pages. The book is truly a record of our family, including countless oral histories, newspaper stories, historical anecdotes and a very detailed family tree. The stories that came from all of you could build several novels because they are so interesting. Our parents and grandparents never dreamed how they would live on in future generations. And the last chapter even traces our family before it came to America, following our ancestors to William the Conqueror and Charlemagne. You can also read about conversations of our ancestors, the Seeber family, at the Battle of Oriskany in the Revolutionary War before they were killed in heroic action.

The book is published in hard cover for durability and with a beautiful dustcover, featuring a painting by Mary Philp Lowell. I have tried to keep the cost as low as possible so only the printing and shipping costs are being charged and none of the production costs in preparing the book for printing. The printer’s price is $36 per book. The cost of packaging the book in a protective package and shipping UPS is $9.00 per book, bringing the total to $45 per book. Please make out checks to Camino Press for the number of books you want and mail your checks to me. On June 20th, I will place the printing order.

This is a book you will want to give to your children and grandchildren as well as to your local libraries and historical societies. I have priced the book on printing at least 100. However many we order, this is the one time it will be printed.

Sincerely,

Dave Lowell
